Vios Remote Control -- Battery

Nothing last forever, when it's due for retirement, one should let it rest peacefully. So don't wait till last minute to plan for backup!

That's what i believe in, so when i sensed that the car remote battery is giving me weak signal, my heart beat faster whenever i need to drive the car out. Worry that it will just die on me and give me a big shock!

After some pestering from mom, last weekend when hub n I was strolling leisurely at 1U, i told him i wanted to get it done, so we walked to the nearest cobber to get it changed.

When we arrived at the shop, (S: me; C: shop guy)

S: Excuse me, i want to change the battery of my car remote control
C: (look up) okay, wat type of remote
S: (show the remote)
C: 1 or 2 battery??
S: (in my head, aren't u suppose to know) errrr
C: Okay, RM15 for one and RM30 for 2
S: (in my head, whatever la) Okay
.....
C: is the battery dried up already?
S: Not dead yet, just giving me very weak signal
C: if that's the case, go finish up the battery first, coz once u change the battery, the signal might run
S: then how?
C: Dun worry, can go to ur car to do the re-setting, but that's another RM25
S: (WTH, u think i am a big water fish???) Okay, I'll let the battery dead first then change la~

To cut the story short, I went there this morning, and got the battery changed, and it cost me only RM17.60 for 2 pcs of battery inside the remote (for One remote) and the guy brought the remote to the car, press some button on the remote and Viola~

So morale of the story? Yes, the service centre stuff might be more expensive, but for small stuff like this, their price are pretty reasonable.

I want something to decorate my new office

on Ten Ten Ten, on our way to Ipoh, CY mentioned that he wanted something to decorate his new room. I don't know what he have in mind... i just kept quiet. During our journey home, I was trying to find some topic to kill the time (sitting in the car under the hot sun can be really boring). So i casually asked " so u wanted to decorate ur room?" "Yah! Maybe we go ikea to check out tonight?" he replied enthusiastically. He's really in the mood, and no reason for me to say no rite?

So after we unpack the luggage n took a shower, we went straight to ikea... walk walk walk n nothing seem fruitful (even the dinner at ikea also making me wanna puke!) As I was strolling leisurely till the lamp section, I casually told CY, I need a lamp to put next to the dresser for make up. As usual we check out a few n i would expect him to say we keep this in mind first... but who knows he says.. let's get this one!! i was like "REALLY????" Since he is paying for it, no point i don't accept ya? hahaha

So we happily take home a Lersta. Will post the photo later :)

Lights

11/10/10

We were strolling aimlessly at Ikea after a very full dinner. And we stop at the lights area and i told CY, "Hey I need to get a lamp. Coz it's very dark at the mirror area, I can't even do my make up properly"

Surprisingly, he just knod his head and said.. okay... go ahead and get it! Yeappieeee there comes the LIGHTS for me!! This is particular handy when i have the sudden itch to pinch the white/dark heads out hahaha

Read between the LINES!! (balance transfer)

Bank are such a money sucker!!

Okay, HSBC called me this afternoon to offer a 12 months 0% interest fee balance transfer! No processing fee, no early settlement fee, no fee involve!! Sounded too good to be true ya!!! Wait....

Let me give u a scenario to help u see the picture clearer.

Balance transfer amount from Bank A - RM6k (0% interest for 12 months, pay as u wish)
Current month retail transaction - RM8k

When the statement comes, my outstanding should be 14k rite? Okay, I am a bit tight, so i issue a check to HSBC CREDIT CARD FOR XXX XXX XXX amounting RM10

So, is the bank smart enuff to decide for u to pay 8k for the retail transaction & 2k for the balance transfer amount???? Dun be so naive!! read further!

When HSBC got the payment, this is the DEFAULT formula they will use to offset the payment is

1st - To pay off all fees n charges (like annual fee, late payment fee, interest, etc etc)
2nd - To pay off the balance transfer amount
Lastly if there's still $$ left then only it will be used to offset your retail transaction!!

So based on my earlier example when I pay RM10k, the bank by DEFAULT will pay the 6k balance transfer amount and the remaining 4k to offset the retail transaction.

Got it???

In case u still don't get it, you will still have an outstanding balance of 4k from your retail transaction which will attract the normal interest rate of 18% per anum!!! So at the end of the day... you are still paying the interest! The point is to WHOM you are paying! So y bother do the transfer in the first place????

ARRGHHHHHHH Bank are such a money sucker!!!!!! They almost got me manipulated!!!!

Think TWICE or THRISE when you want to do balance transfer!

When you wish hard enough

You get what you wanted!!!

Of course, don't just wish, try to put some action so that your wish could come true.

Over the past 6 months, I have changed 2 phones. My old K610 have served me well for the past 2 years (it was a 2nd hand phone btw). As time goes by, its battery life has depleted to an extend whereby I gotta charge it everyday. Due to my nature of work, i talk a lot over the phone. And sometimes if i do go for appointment and so happen using the phone for a while, the battery will went dead on me. Tried this a couple of times. Till mom is nagging me n CY also complaint about my "un"reachability *sigh* I am financially tight!! So i just have to endure the hardship!!

One fine day my bro decided to gave me his old phone, k850, i accepted it happily, however after using it couple of days, i realise the phone would hang easily!! This is even more frustrating!! Arrghhhhhh

At the same time I have been thinking about changing a phone.... I wanna get myself an iPhone, but I just could afford it! So i have been talking about it for ages, and suddenly CY was telling me in a serious tone "I have decided to get you an iPhone" YEAH!!!! Yippeee!! I was practically jumping up and down!!

And the next thing we know, he really brought me to Gardens Mid Valley to get the phone and paid happily for it!

I love u babe!!

Maldivian Claud

After moved in to the new house in less than a year, we discovered that the painting on exterior wall has faded!! Day by day that it has faded till an extend of making our new house looks like an OLD one!!

So it's not hard to guess what's my to do list for PRE-CNY prep ya??

PAINT THE HOUSE!!!

Fret not, i'm not so ambitious to paint the whole house, just the outer wall where the main gate attached to it!! So what's my to buy list?

Dulux Weather Shield - White
Weather Shield - Maldivian Claud (it's actually a blueish grey)
Black paint (for the gate)
Brushes

So on last Saturday morning, both of us wake up at 6.45am to prep to paint the house!!! and Gosh, i din know that it's gonna be this tiring!!! (Seriously, no kidding, it's really TIRING) we are both exhausted when we finally completed this mini project!! (and I'm glad we did it n I'm happy with the new look of it)

Here's a sneak peak of LG painting the house!!

What did i learn during this process?
1) Don't be stingy! If you are not sure the leftover paint is enough for the job, get enough supply or else u'll risk doing that tiring job again!!
2) Brushes! Make sure you get enough brushes!
3) Tape! Useful to do the delicate area without having the hassle of touching up!
4) Dun be lazy! Cover the flr with newspaper!! or else u gotta sit there with ur tiring butt, hand and leg to remove the stain! Worse of all, make ur finger dry n skin crack!
5) Check the weather forecast! As u don't want the rain to ruin your few hours HARDWORK!!
6) Be creative and bold! change new colours, coz painting the same old colour could be boring!

I QUIT!

Am I a doomed manager? Everytime when i start to have a good bond with my staff they wanna hit me with the word GOOD BYE!!

The first case happened when after a long long day I drive home to get an sms (around sunway pyramid area) that my staff wanted to resign. And she mention she has thought about this for long and have made up her mind. When I tried to call her, she has switched off her phone!!! FURIOUS!!

2nd case, the girl came to my desk at 7pm when i was about to call it a day to ask " Do you have a minute to talk" Okay immediately I know what she wants to tell me. bla bla bla, better offer and nearer location.

Okay okay go ahead to ur greener pasture, i am not stopping u. I WILL DEFINATELY GET A BETTER REPLACEMENT

How to be HAPPY

This shop manage to catch my attention every time i walk past coz they have live demonstration on how to make the candy. But i never bought one coz eating candy is not really what I fancy, plus their candy doesn't come cheap.

Last weekend, we were taking a browse after dinner at 1U, and bump into this cute lil' shop again, and this time they are giving out free candy!!! Without hessitation, I went to grab one, to my surprise they have lil "I LOVE YOU" Words in it!!

HAPPY can be as simple as getting a free candy :)

How much does it cost to post a CNY card to KL??

50cts? 30cts?

Well to avoid the embarrassment (coz I'm sending those to my clients) I make a trip to the post office. Based on my assumption, non sealed CNY cards should get a cheaper postage.

It was a hot & sunny day that everyone decided to go to post office to run their errands that parking in post office was all FULL!! ok nvm, i just park illegally and they can't give me a ticket for just simply park my car!! hahahha Situation inside the post office wasn't pleasant either, it's filled with retired people trying to pay their household bills. Okay that's expected, so I patiently queue up at the "Setem" line and waited for like 15mins coz the guy in front of me was sending tons of registered mail!! arrrghhhh

Finally my turn, i pass him the card,
(M = Me; O = Officer)
M: semua hantar ke KL
O: Seal kan envelope tu, tak seal lima puloh cent, seal 30cent
M: ok ok, nanti saya pergi seal.

Hmmm i remember years ago when sending CNY cards is a trend I tend not to seal the card coz it can save me 5cents of postage. I suppose time has changed and now sealed envelope are cheaper so that the letter wun fall off and the post office people don't have to put it back nicely?

OPI - Over the taupe

Since young, i'm used to seeing my mom in her pretty glossy pink nail polish! Back then mani & pedicure was not common, in fact I din even know you can go to a nail saloon to get ur nail fixed!! I guess it was then I have secretly like the idea of putting nail polish.

But back them I was very tom boyish. Can't really remember when did i start to put nail polish. I guess it must me during the uni time. I still remember I purposely went to get a nail polish (revlon) just to get it match with my dress :) to go for an Opera, Les' Miserable... the good old memories.

Fast forward to current, my latest addition of OPI -> A greyish with subtle hint of purple shade. Mom and LG hates it, but i thought it was kinda cool~ what you think?

This was taken while i had nothing better to do in the car, taken with my mobile without flash under direct sunlight

This was taken in the office *sheeesshhh don't let the boss know*
